Leo/Aleo Version Target

This site targets Leo compiler >=4.4.0, snarkOS and snarkVM 4.9.0, Provable SDK 0.11.6, and the Aleo mainnet as of August 2026, running consensus V18.

Where sources disagree, the compiler wins. Every Leo code block on this site is compiled against the pinned Leo CLI in CI, and pages carrying syntax claims record a lastValidated date in their metadata.

This matters more than usual on Aleo. Leo 4.0 replaced the entire function keyword vocabulary, and later 4.x releases removed self.caller, self.signer, and the script keyword. Material written before mid-2026, including some still-published official documentation, describes syntax that no longer compiles. If you find a conflict between this site and another source, check which Leo version each targets before assuming either is right.
